• TAPI lineGetAddressID() fails with LINEERR_INVALADDRESS

  I have a windows mobile 6 application using TAPI 2.0. lineGetAddressID() is needed to get the address identifier used by several calls in the telephone api, but I can't get it to work. I have tried the following to no avail: HLINE line; // valid handle from lineOpen(); DWORD addr_id = 0; result = ::lineGetAddressID( line, &addr_id, LINEADDRESSMODE_DIALABLEADDR, L"1234", 5 ); result = ::lineGetAddressID( line, &addr_id, LINEADDRESSMODE_DIALABLEADDR, L"5551234", 8 ); result = ::lineGetAddressID( line, &addr_id, LINEADDRESSMODE_DIALABLEADDR, L"1115551234", 11 ); result = ::lineGetAddressID( line, &addr_id, LINEADDRESSMODE_DIALABLEADDR, L"11115551234", 12 ); All of them return LINEERR_INVALADDRESS. Can anybody point out what I may be doing wrong? As a side question, how can I programmaticly get the address? It appears in the LINEADDRESSCAPS structure returned by lineGetAddressCaps(), but that requires an address identifier (which would need to come from lineGetAddressID(), which requires an address...). Note: I realize I could use 0 as the address ID and it will probably work, but I have no guarantee it will work for every platform. I would like to get this solved 'right'. Thanks, PaulH

• Proper way to set PYTHONPATH (including precedence)

  In .bashrc I have: export PYTHONPATH=/home/wells/py-mlb I've verified this is actually being set. so, in this directory is another directory called 'py_mlb'- the actual module. Any ideas?

• Combine 3 select fields and validate as one in my User model in ruby on rails 3

  Ok I have 3 select boxes for selecting date of birth. I have constants setup in my User model to provide months, years etc.. Anyway I can successfully validate these select boxes separately. What I want to do is combine the :day, :month and :year and store in :birthday and validate the whole date as one so I can return 1 error rather than 3 separate ones. Also doing this will make it easier to store the validated date in my birthday field in my database. • Why am I getting 'Heap Corruption'?

  Please don't crucify me for this one. I decided it might be good to use a char* because the string I intended to build was of a known size. I am also aware that if timeinfo-tm_hour returns something other than 2 digits, things are going to go badly wrong. That said, when this function returns VIsual Studio goes ape at me about HEAP CORRUPTION. What's going wrong? • Instruments (Leaks) and NSDateFormatter

  When I run my iPhone app with Instruments Leaks and parse a bunch of NSDates using NSDateFormatter my memory goes up about 1mb and stays even though these NSDates should be dealloc'd after the parsing (I just discard them if they aren't new). I thought the malloc (in my heaviest stack trace below) could become part of the NSDate but I also thought it could be memory that only used during some intermediate step in parsing. Does anyone know which one it is or how to find out? Also, is there a way to put a breakpoint on NSDate dealloc to see if that memory is really being reclaimed? • SQL (mySQL) update some value in all records processed by a select

  I am using mySQL from their C API, but that shouldn't be relevant. My code must process records from a table that match some criteria, and then update the said records to flag them as processed. The lines in the table are modified/inserted/deleted by another process I don't control. I am afraid in the following, the UPDATE might flag some records erroneously since the set of records matching might have changed between step 1 and step 3. SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE <CONDITION>; # step 1 <iterate over the selected set of lines. This may take some time.> # step 2 UPDATE myTable SET processed=1 WHERE <CONDITION> # step 3 What's the smart way to ensure that the UPDATE updates all the lines processed, and only them? A transaction doesn't seem to fit the bill as it doesn't provide isolation of that sort: a recently modified record not in the originally selected set might still be targeted by the UPDATE statement. For the same reason, SELECT ... FOR UPDATE doesn't seem to help, though it sounds promising :-) The only way I can see is to use a temporary table to memorize the set of rows to be processed, doing something like: CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE workOrder (jobId INT(11)); INSERT INTO workOrder SELECT myID as jobId FROM myTable WHERE <CONDITION>; SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE myID IN (SELECT * FROM workOrder); <iterate over the selected set of lines. • What Qt container class to use for a sorted list?

  Part of my application involves rendering audio waveforms. The user will be able to zoom in/out of the waveform. Starting at fully zoomed-out, I only want to sample the audio at the necessary internals to draw the waveform at the given resolution. Then, when they zoom in, asynchronously resample the "missing points" and provide a clearer waveform. (Think Google Maps.) I'm not sure the best data structure to use in Qt world. Ideally, I would like to store data samples sorted by time, but with the ability to fill-in points as needed. So, for example, the data points might initially look like: data[0 ms] = 10 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... • Azure application working on emulator but not on azure cloud

  firstly i am developing my MVC3 application on visual web developer 2010 express, by migrating my MVC3 (cshtml) files on MVC2. it works great on local system using the emulator, but once i deploy the application on azure it gives runtime errors. example: The layout page "~/Views/Shared/test_page.cshtml" could not be found at the following path: "~/Views/Shared/test_page.cshtml".
